Common Hall - Election of The Lord Mayor at Guildhall, 29 September 2009

The Master leading the Procession

All those who have been Liverymen for at least a year are summoned to Common Hall twice a year:  in June to vote in the Election for the Sheriffs and in September to vote on the Election for The Lord Mayor.  The Election is preceded by a Service in the Church of St Lawrence Jewry-Next-Guildhall

The Master and Clerk attended a sumptuous Breakfast at the invitation of The Cook & The Butler at Hall and had then adjourned to the Old Library at Guildhall where Beadles and Clerks were ensuring their Master was prepared for the Procession with the Master’s Robe and Badge.

After the Election, a small group of Company Liverymen, including the Master, Immediate Past Master and Junior Warden, were invited to join a group from The Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights for an excellent Lunch in the wonderfully impressive Armourers’ Hall.
