Joint Livery Carol Service, 9 December 2009

We celebrated Christmas for the first time this year in a Joint Livery Carol Service with The Worshipful Company of Clockmakers, The Worshipful Company of Gold & Silver Wyre Drawers, The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, The Company of Educators and The Cripplegate Ward Club.

The event is organised by a different Company each year and it was The Clockmakers’ Company in their parish church of St Giles Cripplegate who were in charge this year.  Each Master had a Reading and this fascinating church, tucked away out of sight by the Barbican, reverberated with organ music and fine singing.

A hearty buffet supper was provided by in the aisles of the church, with soup (with your own 2009 Carol Service mug to take away!), a choice of main courses, mince pies and wine.  This provides an excellent opportunity to mix with like-minded people from other Livery Companies and a very jolly time was had by all.

Next year, The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators is organising the Service at the Church of St Sepulchre-without-Newgate on 9 December 2010.
